Chrysler goes Bankrupt

The associated press is reporting the Chrysler will have to file for bankruptcy protection as a deal with creditors could not be reached. The company will still go forward with a merger with Italian auto maker Fiat. The best part here is that Chrysler CEO Robert Nardelli sent an e-mail to employees that the government and Fiat would pick the new board that would be appointed. Further, the new board would pick a new CEO only with Fiat's blessing. So what this comes down to is that the "government" and Fiat will run the new company and control the board of directors.

I was sure we were told last night by the president that he did not want to run the auto companies, so if thats the case, how are these people from the U.S. Government getting on the new Chrysler board?

Biden almost starts a Panic over the Flu

Vice President Joe Biden appears to have once again opened his rather large mouth and inserted both feet in it. Biden said today that he advised his family to stay off planes and out of subways because of the swine flu. He further said he told his family to stay out of confined places outside the home.

Airline officials contacted the White House and press and were complaining that Biden was "fear mongering". Imagine that, this administration fear mongering, who would believe it? Biden told NBC's "Today" show that he told his family not to travel to Mexico. Biden said he was open to closing down school classrooms but not the U.S./Mexico border.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said, "To suggest that people not fly at this stage of things is a broad brush stroke bordering on fear mongering." The vice presidents office had to backtrack and cover the remarks with their usual flurry of updated statements that "clarify" his position.

" I Have a Gift Harry"

People all over America last night watched the Presidential New Conference and came away with some very different views of what they saw transpire on their televisions. What is clear now is that Obama has a group of followers that no matter what he does or says, they will think he's wonderful. The mainstream press for the most part don't even challenge him on any real issues. They ask questions about how great it must be to live in the White House. Look I'm not a journalist, nor do I claim to be, but if you have a press conference that lasts an hour and you only ask 13 questions, soft ball questions at that, it becomes nothing but free t.v. time for Obama.

The media is liberal and has now finally come out of the closet once and for all. The Fox News channel reporter there never got called on, but that's not a surprise. Earlier in the day Obama told an audience in the Mid West that he basically had no time for the "Tea Bag" people and for Fox News. He claims more or less that Fox News doesn't say good things about him and the tea party people don't have a real handle on whats going on, they just want to blame him and he's not responsible. These types of swipes by the White House is not new. Remember how Obama told people not to listen to Rush Limbaugh, they tried to spread the idea Rush was leading the Republican party. That worked out well. This President doe's not seem to do well when he gets criticized for something. When asked during the campaign about his experience or lack of, he came out with a remark to the effect that he has being running a presidential campaign for 2 years and people should try that once and see how hard it is.

The mainstream media watch as Obama uses his teleprompter everywhere he goes, and they say nothing. They see him have to stop in the middle of his remarks and try to get aligned with the teleprompter while he is stumbling and mumbling along telling the operators that he already introduced someone he must have jumped ahead. What is that ? Senator Harry Reid comes out with a book that has Obama telling Reid " I have a gift Harry", after Reid commented on how good the speech he just gave to the Senate was. It was an anti-war speech, but that doesn't matter. A poll came out 2 days ago that showed 96% of African Americans approve of the job the Obama is doing, 4% were not sure, none disapproved. How can this be? Either the polling is flawed or the people they polled are. According to this poll, there is not one black person in America that disapproves of Obama, yeah right. This is the kind of garbage that comes out of the media.

Polls all over the country show that about 68% of the people like him, however he gets only a 62% job approval rating, Bush had 63%. Yet the press will tell you how much people love him and how popular he is. Really, Bush had just won a divided election with the Florida recount ordeal, still he came in a point higher than Obama. How can this be ? Obama is the great one, the savior, only he can saves us right ? When you look at the numbers behind the polls you find that he is more popular than his policies by a long shot. People do not believe we are on the right track and when asked about the longer term view of things, they believe he is spending too much and it will make things worse. But nobody says that.

Yes Obama's first 100 days have past, and it will probably take a decade or two to get out of his first 100 days of obamanation.

Firearms Sales Person of the Year Award

I have just reviewed the total NICS system background check information and data. This report came directly from their web sight so no one can claim the numbers are fudged. The numbers are amazing. Everyone knew guns sales were exploding, but this is something a little different. The program records sales checks from November 1998. In the last 10 years and 5 months, the system has completed, get this, 99,802,067 instant background checks. That's almost 100 million, in a little over 10 years!

Now hold on, the first quarter of this year alone has recorded 3,818,059. That's up a little over 800,000 from the same time period last year. Hold on some more, the last quarter of last year was 4,236,340 checks. In the last 6 months that's a total of, get this number, 8,054,399 instant checks.

Whats really amazing is that in the last 6 months on record has accounted for a little over 8% of the total guns sales for the last 10 years. Now that's sales we can all admire. And that's why we are giving President Obama the Gun Sales Person of the Year Award. Keep up the Good Work!

U.S.Exports Drop 30% In First Quarter !

The U.S. Commerce Department has come out today with a report showing the economy shrunk by 6.1% in the first quarter of the year. It was a much larger drop than was predicted, analysts believed the drop would be 4.9%. The big numbers hidden in the report are that U.S. exports dropped by just over 30%, that's not a drop, that's has the report states, "collapsed".

Another huge decline came in business investment, it fell by 37.9%, residential investment dropped 38%. These kind of numbers have not been seen since in the mid 70's and early 80's. Remember the $787 billion stimulus bill, it was supposed to prop up faltering state and local government spending, it had no impact as their spending fell by 3.9%, that's the first decline in 28 years.

The unemployment numbers come out Friday, they will no doubt be in the same league as these. With business investment non existent we are headed for a major crash. The administration had better get off the Socialism kick and get back into Capitalism in a big way fast. The U.S. economy can not weather this type of free fall forever.

North Korea Returns

The crazy little cross dresser in North Korea, Kim Jong Ill, is now threatening to resume missile and nuclear weapons testing unless the United States apologizes for the mean comments we said about them at the united Nations. Lets see how the Obama administration does on this one.

What the North really wants is direct talks with the United States about a wide range of issues including economic aid. South Korea has recently taken a hard line against the North, this had angered Kim and he is now acting out with a new administration in Washington he feels sure he can get some results he could not get with Bush there. We can not go to the table with him, if we do we elevate him to the same level as the United States which is what he rally wants. It would legitimize his regime and he needs that desperately.

What we need to understand is that this crazy little man has nukes and constantly threatens to use them. He could very easily offer to help Iran if he not done so already. If a nuke explodes in a U.S. port in a cargo container he could very well be the person that makes it happen, then what? He views Obama as weak a naive and this presents an opening he needs. Americans voted for Obama last fall, they wanted economic aid, many sold out for the promise of money.

Lets hope Obama does better with this than he is doing with the U.S. economy, otherwise this will be a long and very dangerous 4 years.

Specter to become a Democrat !

Senator Arlen Specter has announced he will run for re-election on 2010 as a Democrat instead of a Republican. Since he voted as a liberal I guess he decided he should be registered as one. The truth is he did not want to face a certain defeat in the Republican primaries next year.

Specter no doubt saw the polls showing him behind by double digits to Pat Toomey, who ran against him last time and almost won. Harry Ried, the Senate Majority Leader is telling people Specter will join his caucus soon. This would give the Democrats a 60 vote majority which can break any filibuster that may be raised.

Pennsylvania voters need to remember this next fall. Specter must not win, period !

Pakistani Civil War

The news from Pakistan gets worse as time goes on. Yesterday we were being told the government in Islamabad had the situation under control, today the Associated Press is describing outright combat going on about 50 or 60 miles from capital. Pakistani aircraft are bombing and strafing militants who they claim are seemingly emboldened by the collapse of the peace deal.

Imagine if there were U.S. aircraft bombing targets in Baltimore. Would you think things were under control then ? Probably not. Put this in perspective, 60 miles, how far is that from your home? Now imagine heavy artillery and aircraft pounding the area. The Pakistani government is unsure how many people they are dealing with, but they estimate somewhere around 500 militants are in Buner province. The Taliban has set up road blocks and checkpoints and are stopping and searching people. There is also has new video footage of 2 people being murdered by a group of the Taliban, the man and woman were shot several times as they ran away. People around the world need to understand, these are the 9/11 types. These people have murdered thousands in Afghanistan, it's the Taliban at their finest.

Pakistan has over 100,000 troops but they are aligned by the Indian border, not fighting the militants. Witnesses say they are now seeing tanks and heavy artillery being taken into the Buner region. This is civil war by any description, no one wants to say it, but that's what it is. The country is now suffering from a surge of thousands of refugees fleeing the areas where fighting is taking place. Lets hope for every ones sake they find themselves a "Lincoln" to get behind. The current government looks week and ambivalent towards whats going on. For now, all we can do is watch and pray for a good outcome. I have seen or heard of no response from the administration in meaningful way to this point.

Fair & Balanced - I Think Not !

I was watching Bill O'Reilly on Fox News last night and he made a very good point. The left in this country seems determined to smear the American military come hell or high water. I believe he his right. The purpose behind it seems to be to damage the Republican party and conservatives as a whole, with the goal being to realign the political landscape for the next decade at least.

As he correctly pointed out, this is the same old crowd that has been after Bush and his administration for the past 8 years. They wish to use the new release of prisoner photos to embarrass the military and to try to drive home the point we can never go to war and all of this is the nasty Republicans fault. Again he correctly pointed out that these photos were taken by military prosecutors to be used in trails in which American soldiers had been charged with a crime. Not really a "fair and balanced" view of whats happening, is it ?

What he did not say, is that these are nothing but the "flower children" and "hippies" from the late 60's and early 70's. These are the same anti war protester's that protested Vietnam. The difference is now they are older and have money and political connections. They look more refined in their suit's and ties, but they are the same group now as then. Many people don't realize this. A lot of voters who voted for Obama, weren't even born when Vietnam was taking place. These people were anti military then and they are now. Many Democrats fear our use of military power more than they fear the terrorists who are trying to kill us.

Trying to use any tactic to gain power is what they are doing, that's all. This type of thing makes our country less safe not more. This type of thing gives all the" American Haters" around the world something to talk about. This type of thing tells the world we are weak and have no resolve. This is dangerous for us, not them. No one should be surprised as Obama went on a world tour telling the world we were "arrogant", nice. Releasing memos on interogation tactics in no way helps U.S. security. The left seems determined to embarass the United States no matter what. If compromising our safety is a result, they don't care.

Useing what can best be described as crime scene photos is a desparate attempt to smear our troops and the war effort. Bill O'Reilly said he was alone in trying to stop this type of thing, hay Bill, your not. Oh yea, buy the door mat, its great, you can get them from his web sight, www.billoreilly.com.

GM closes Pontiac, Cuts 21,000 jobs

General Motors announced today that they will cut 21,000 jobs. Also they announced they will shut down the entire Pontiac line of cars, a line it has carried on for 83 years. Last week they announced they would shut down several of their factories for 12 weeks. The ripple affect of this will be enormous, when the GM plants shut down, all of the people who supply them will also become idle very quickly.

If the Obama administration "Car Czar" has any good ideas, now would be the time to share them. GM also announced it wanted the federal government to take common stock in the company in lue of 50% of the money they owe the U.S. What hasn't changed is the unwillingness of the UAW union to make concessions to keep GM out of bankruptcy. Chrysler is also facing the same problem with the unions. Obama was forcing Chrysler to merge with Fiat or close. Since Fiat is Italian they made it very clear that without major union labor concessions(read pay rates)they would not go further with buyout talks, and guess what? They didn't. The best part about the the Fiat merger idea is that being the bumbler Obama is, he told everybody that unless Fiat agreed to buy Chrysler, that the company would go under and be forced to liquidate. Now if you were Fiat or anybody else for that matter, why not wait until they have to sell of pieces of the company and buy only what you want for pennies on the dollar. Gee I would never have thought of that. What a putz.

The other issue is that all of the people out there who own Pontiac's, especially the ones who just bought one recently are going to get killed when they go to trade or resell their cars. The American car companies are in deep trouble and the only life line they have is being held by a confused, misguided and unqualified leader. How's the first 100 days looking now ?

Support American Troops, They Support You

The Obama administration wants to release more prisoner abuse photo's they claim the Pentagon has. What this will no doubt do is crank up the "Hate America" volume all over the world. It will be the loudest in the Middle East. Americans should be proud of our troops and the mission they are on. Most of these soldiers are good honest caring people. American soldiers lay their lives on the line for other peoples freedom. America does not take and hold ground, if we did we would own most of Europe, Asia, part of Africa and a big chunk of the Middle East.

American soldiers are great at fighting wars, we liberate people. We save them from oppression and in many cases certain death. Did we have trouble in the occupation phase of the Iraq war ? Sure. Why ? Because as a whole we are a liberating army, not an occupying one. The American military is trained to fight and win wars, period. Yes they have all kinds of civilian community support programs, but they are not the first priority as a whole.

American soldiers from all Branch's have given their lives helping others. People around the world may forget that, but as Americans, we can't. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard active or reserve, they are all the same. For the most part these are good people who deserve the support of the American people. Without a doubt the present administration will dump on the military while acting like they support them. Don't be fooled. When you hear about all the abuse the military has committed in Iraq, remember not everything is as it seems. Support our troops, they deserve it.

Pakistani peace deal "Worthless"

The Taliban has now declared the peace deal they had with the Pakistani government is worthless. I guess this means all bets are off. I have been watching news coverage of the problems in Pakistan and one thing seems obvious, they people in the countryside don't want the army there any more than they want the Taliban. The government of Pakistan said they don't have a crisis and everything is fine. But what else would they say.

The truth is the Taliban was started in Pakistan by the ISI, their secret intelligence service, they were trained, funded and supported by a Pakistani government agency. Everything was fine as long as they stayed in Afghanistan, but now they want to come home and its a problem. The Taliban were originally a group of Muslim religious students who were formed into a cohesive group with the help of Pakistan. The Taliban imposes strict Islamic law everywhere they go, the problem is they are also sadistic and out of control. They believe if you are not a Muslim you are an infidel who can and in some cases must be killed. Other then that they are fine.

The problem for the world is that you have a country that is struggling to get into the real world as a whole, it has many remote areas that are out of the control of its central government, and its people are Muslim for the most part. The Taliban takes a populist movement covers it in religion and off you go. The government sits by and watches as young boys get indoctrinated into the radicalized world of the Taliban at religious schools everyday. Then when they grow older and have extreme views, they act like they don't know why. Of course the government in Pakistan is afraid of its own people and it should be. When they believed that the Taliban was spreading Islamic extremism in Afghanistan and elsewhere, the ISI supported them, now they want to spread the same thing in Pakistan and people aren't so sure whats good for someone else is good for them.

The real problem is that parts of the Pakistani government is sympathetic to them and supports their cause. This is why they have never been able to control the Taliban, a good sized section of Pakistan agrees with them. Pakistan is in many ways a backwards country, but is a backwards country with nuclear weapons and that not a good mix. The Pakistani army said it will take control back, lets hope they succeed. India who sits across the border from them is probably more worried than the United States, they don't want Muslim fanatics with control of nukes aiming at them and how can you blame them. The United States needs to get involved in a constructive way now to help stabilize the situation fast while we still have some friends in the Pakistani government, the other options are pretty bleak.

Condi, Where Are You ?

With the election of President Obama came his whole "change" theme. I'm not sure what this change is, change for a dollar, can't be, because when he's done I won't have a dollar. One change that he could keep is his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. What a mess.

We now have a clueless President being guided by an even worse Secretary of State. She is our leading diplomat in the world now.I just get all warm and fuzzy when I hear that. Lets see now, the crazy little cross dresser in North Korea is back at it. He got mad and restarted his nuclear enrichment programs again, he probably thinks its a good time to do this as it was under the Clinton administration he came out of the closet and announced to the world he had nukes. The first Clinton did so well lets do it again. This time its even better, now he has longer range missiles, the one he just tested, you know, that one.

Next up the Iranians, they are a bunch of fun. Lets see, they launched a "satellite" last month, and no that wasn't a new missile, that was a rocket made for peaceful space exploration, don't you know that ? The fact that they want a totally peaceful nuclear program, despite sitting on top of the worlds 2nd largest oil reserves, shouldn't confuse you either. Didn't you know the Iranians were going green with nuclear power, Al Gore is taking care of the whole thing for them. That thing about wanting to wipe Israel off of the face of the earth, just a misunderstanding. And before you say it, the Iranians were not in North Korea for their rocket launch either. Now Hillary did respond forcefully through the United Nations, Kim Jong Ill was shaking in his boots when she got done.

Since Obama thought it would be a good idea to tell everybody who would listen that we were pulling out of Iraq, I guess they got so worried about it, they started a new suicide bombing campaign. Yea boy they really want us to know how much they will miss us. Or maybe they think since the Bamster committed 30,000 or 40,000 new troops to Afghanistan and since he made a campaign promise to get out of Iraq, that it might be a good time to let everybody know they are still very much there and when we are gone, they will take control. Maybe that's why no one would give a time line before. They know they can stretch us to the breaking point since we told them what we want to do. But don't worry, Hillary totally supports the administration policy on Iraq. Man that was a close one.

Now in Afghanistan things are much better, all Hillary has to do is ask and the NATO members will flood the place with troops. She is just waiting until we get all the glory, you know trying to make us look good. And the Taliban was so scared when they heard about Obama winning the election, they decided to go take over Pakistan instead. She got them on the run now. Yep, any day now they should have nukes and won't need some back water country like Afghanistan any more. The good news is that she is right on top of things in Pakistan. She just can't figure out if they want to stop the Taliban of not, you know one day they do, one day they don't. Can you imagine the nerve of those people, not having been told she was in charge now and doing things without her permission. My lord, whats next, letting GITMO detainees lose in America because nobody wants them ?

All I have to say is: Condi, Please Come Home !

The CIA Memos and the Real Shame

With all the talk about the CIA and torture, did anybody ever think Obama is using this as a distraction, beat up on Bush again. Well never fear, Obama changed his mind again as of Thursday evening, he is now saying no to prosecutions on former lawyers in the Bush administration, that was after he said yes to prosecutions and that was after he said no to prosecutions, I think. But don't worry, it doesn't really matter because by the time you figure it out it may have changed again.

While he may have succeeded in switching the agenda for a week, the harm he has done will be around for a great deal longer than that. Before 9/11 the U.S. intelligence community was criticized for not connecting the dots, remember that? We found that the reason for that was they had been prevented from doing so by various laws and internal regulations, many set down by the Clinton administration. Who can forget Sandy Berger, the Clinton National Security Advisor, who was charged with stealing classified documents by stuffing them in his under ware. He was to testify before the 9/11 commission and was just studying up a little. Obama in his desire to change the subject and make himself look good, hung the security of United States out to dry. No one with half a mind could blame any intelligence officer working for any of the services in our government for not sticking his or her neck out by pushing just a little harder. They now know they have no backup should something go wrong.

Four former Directors of the CIA, and to boot his own current director, asked him not to release the documents, but he did anyway. He did it because he wanted political points with his far left base. What he did for political advantage was mortgage U.S. security. If something should occur again, and the more he meddles with it the more likely that is to occur, this will fall straight on him, no one else. This man is a novice at best, he has now compromised the security of our country while Home Land Security is busy watching me and you. Liberals live in a theoretical world and in that world things just make sense. The problem is the rest of the world lives in reality, theories really matter very little here, facts do. If the day comes when we need information about attacks on our country, believe me when I say, I don't really care how we get it if it saves innocent American lives from being lost. If that's my daughter or your son, I don't care who you hurt or how, just get the info and stop them, dead.

This was a shame, but I am sure Obama and the Democrats will find a new low to sink too soon.

Swine Flu Panic

OK, I waited until I actually had something constructive to say, the Swine Flu is now causing panic around the world. European nations are stopping and detaining people coming from Mexico. Asian countries are refusing entry if they suspect a problem with travelers. Brazil, Peru and Chili have all enacted emergency procedures to stop the spread if possible. In the United States, three states have now reported cases, Texas, Kansas and California. As of today, 62 people in Mexico have died as a result of contracting pneumonia as a result of the flu. Mexico has reported over 1000 people have contracted the flu so far. A public school in New York City is saying it may have 8 students infected, they are unsure at this time.

What we have is an animal virus strain that has found its way to people. We are not helpless, antiviral drugs such as Tamiflu do work against this version, also there is a limited amount of immunity you may get from the flu shot you may have gotten earlier this year. The important thing here is do not panic. Every blog you read, all the news channels on t.v. and even the news paper are all screaming "pandemic". First off, according to most medical experts, if it does become a pandemic, it will be a mild one. Second, unless this is something entirely different than what we are being told, and there is no reason to believe that is the case, for the most part this can be handled and to a limited extent controlled. So far the people in the U.S. have gotten sick like a normal flu with some of them now recovering. I don't want to get sick, I hate being sick. But, this is not the plague or "black death" as the news is portraying.

If people remain calm and use common sense, we should be just fine.

Lending a Helping Hand

I normally don't do this, but I was out at the range this morning and saw a couple of guys out with their news pistols giving themselves and their weapons a workout and I got into a discussion with them and found out some interesting things. They both had new Glock 23's in 40 S&W, a good pistol to be sure. They both discovered pretty fast that Jack Bauer has a lot of help from his producers. They came to the range with bulls eye targets about 8" around and they were shooting at them from 25 yards. This is what the clerk at Bass Pro Shops recommended. Since they paid almost $25.00 a box for ammo its almost criminal to watch them shoot and not say something to them.

After talking for a while they both said they got the Glock because several police departments in the area carried them along with Sig's, but the Glocks cost a little less so they went that way. They were told that since ammo is scarce that they could buy target or full metal jacket ammo and get good results if they needed to use it for defense if they could not get hollow points. The clerk was kind enough to point out that the bullet has a flat nose and this was good for shooting "people". It sounds like the clerk needs shot. After they moved up to the 7 yard line and started shooting at full size thugs targets, they started to hit them every now and then which improved their attitude in a big way. They also needed cleaning kits the clerk told them they didn't because the brush and rod in the box is all they would need, because it was a Glock.

What I'm getting at here is that these guys are like a couple or ten million new gun owners that just appeared in the last few months. I wonder if Obama ever thought he could stimulate any part of the economy that well. Anyway, the store they purchased their firearms at did them a great disservice while selling them the weapons. I'm not talking about the price, I'm talking about having someone with some knowledge helping people select something they may need to defend their lives with. I'm very pro gun, but I don't want to see people get ripped off or worse, because they went to someone without the knowledge or desire to help them, just make the sale. People should take their time in selecting any weapon, they cost a good bit of money and are dangerous tools if misused.

These guys started off good, they figured if cops carry them, they can't be that bad. That's true, police guns have gone through tons of testing and weapons like the Glock have seen service all over the world and come through with flying colors. Buying ammo is a test in and of itself now, don't let a clerk convince you of something if it sounds kind of off, make him or her explain what they are saying, if they can't, go somewhere else. Ask for help from people in your family, or if you have a good friend who is familiar with firearms go to them first before spending your money. If you need instruction in the proper use and care of your weapon, contact the NRA, they have instructors all over and they are not selling you a gun. If you are a new gun owner, congratulations and welcome to the club. If you own weapons and you see someone struggling with an issue, offer to help, remember they probably think more like you than not. We can use all the good "pr" we can get, not to mention votes.

Clinton, Obama, Pakistan & Nukes - Great!

Pakistan has now become the focus of the U.S. intelligence community, can't figure out why,can you ? Washington states they are less worried about the Taliban seizing the nukes than they are about radicalized Pakistanis getting jobs or making their way into the military where they could have access to development of weapons systems. This is true, but if things continue to go as they are, it won't matter, they will be running the country soon. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State, flip flopped yesterday and now says that the Pakistan government is aware of the threat by the Taliban and are now taking action to control it. The day before she stated that the government of Pakistan had abdicated control to the Taliban. Which is it, they are in charge or not ? You see this is the problem, this woman has lied most of her adult life and continues to now, this time however she is dealing with a country with nuclear weapons that may fall into hostile hands. It gets hard to know what the truth is if she changes from day to day.

What we need to be watching here is the U.S. military response to the developments, they would be charged with securing the nukes if needed. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen was very comfortable last year when asked about the status of the Pakistani nukes. Two weeks ago he said he was "reasonably comfortable", I liked the first response better. The administration would have us believe that the chances of a nuke falling into the wrong hands is very remote. I hope so, but remember this is the administration that said no prosecutions of Bush officials one day and the next it was up to the Justice Department. This is the same administration who hired Clinton in the first place, the one who can't figure out which story to go with. The administration that worked out the great secret deal with the Russians. How about the administration that watched North Korea test fire a long range missile. Don't worry, there's more, they are about as in control as a snow balls chance of freezing in hell. I'm wrong, the snowball has a better chance. These people can't even lie and do it well. It makes me feel good to know that they are in charge of our security.

Pakistan has a history of spreading nuclear information for a price. Yes Abdul Qadeer Khan, was arrested but now he is free from his house arrest. He had a nice sized network in place, no doubt its still there and could be restarted if its not already. Al-Qaeda wants nukes in the worst way, so does Iran. You know that if either one got a hold of the weapons they would not hesitate to use them, probably on the United States or our interests or people abroad. This government is worried about slapping terrorist's, perhaps they should be worrying about this instead. This government fears it own citizens, you know the right wing radicals, more than it appears the radical Pakistanis with nukes. What the hell is wrong with these people.

The United States government needs to ensure that under no circumstance, nuclear weapons have even a remote, teeny weeny chance of falling into the Taliban's hands. We need to support the Pakistani military either overtly or covertly, to ensure they are capable of keeping the country from falling to radicalized Muslims. If we do not, we will be faced with sending our military in to secure nukes in a very hostile situation, one we will lose American lives in, one that will spread to radicalized Muslims around the world like wildfire. This situation could get real ugly real fast. What worries me the most is that Obama has no clue what to do about any of it. The left wanted Obama because he was a peace nick, it looks like America could get a war time president who said we are not at war. If Americans thought we could be fighting a real war in the near future, do you think Obama would still be president ? I think not, and I don't like John McCain.

Tell Specter it's time to GO!

Now that tax day, April 15th, is gone, whats next for the conservatives who had tea parties all over the country, what now ? Well we have an answer, we are going to start a campaign to send liberal politicians "pink slips" in the mail. We need to tell these people that they are not coming back next year. The mid-term elections are coming up, we need to change congress or we are all sunk.

We want to start with our pal Arlen Specter, he is the Republican Senator who gave Obama his stimulus bill. I live in Pennsylvania and have talked with several of my friends, they would rather lose the general election than let Arlen Specter get back in office. They will do everything they can to defeat him in the primaries. We need to tell him he's done. He sold out Pennsylvania and the United States, he needs to go. He has always been a liberal hiding as a Republican, now its worse he was simply bought off by Obama with medical research money.

If we don't take the congress back next year, we may never be able to stop this obamanation from destroying our country. Chris Dodd is next, he has got to go, Mr. Countrywide himself along with Barney Frank, in the house set up this entire housing collapse, yet no one in the media is talking about it. We would like to start by sending little Arlen 20,000 pink slips in the mail. We would be glad to send them to anyone you would like, but lets start with him. Donate $5.00 and we will mail a "pink slip" in your name to Specters office in Washington, D.C. We need to tell him to go home. This man actually came out and said that he if listened to the people who were calling his office, he would not get re-elected. Wait a minute, its his job to listen to people, he is in the Senate to represent the people, not his own special interests.

Help us get this started, hit the donate button for $5.00, we will get your voice heard !

The New York Times is running out of Time & Money

The liberal home away from home, The New York Times seems to be having a little trouble. It seems they borrowed $225 million from a Mexican business man named Carlos Slim. He charged them 10% or 11% interest on the money, that's why he's a Mexican billionaire. The Times owns the Boston Globe which according to their own record keeping is set to lose $85 million this year, The Times is now threatening to close down the Globe unless they get major concessions from the unions at the Globe. Can this be ? The liberal Times is wanting what? Concessions from the UNIONS!!!

Don't worry, it won't matter the Times itself lost $74.5 million in the first quarter of this year. Its advertising income dropped 27%, thats $124 million. The Times is laying people off and cutting pay for the rest of its employees. Then they came out last week and said they would eliminate weekly sections of the paper to save money.

Think about this, their stock closed at $4.94 a share yesterday, you have to pay more for the Sunday paper than a share of stock, how screwed up is that ? Maybe if the Times wasn't such a liberal rag, they might actually have advertisers who want to be in their paper. Maybe not just liberal advertisers, they are kind of starting to look like Air America only in print.

Polls You Never See

Here are some poll numbers you won't see on the nightly news. It looks like smokin Joe Biden ani't smokin no more. According to Real Clear Politics.Com, Biden has an approval rating of just 51%, compared to Al Gore who was at 55%, but hold on Dick Cheney was at 58% at this time during his administration. It looks like Biden is slipping accross the board, he is down among Democrats from 87% to 76% and among Independants from 58% to 46%, his peak was the day he got sworn in.

Check this one out, Fox News, who we are told liberals hate with a passion may not be as hated as thought. When asked which network is the most hard to Obama, Fox was number one, but only 44% of Democrats think they are hard on Obama compared to only 29% of Independants. That might explain why Fox is number 1, accross the board for news. And the left's "rock star" Rachel Maddow, is sinking like the Titanic. Her peak viewership was level at 1.9 million, now as of March she is managing only 1.1 million. That over 40% gone, probably to Fox.

Don't worry, the trend is starting to show, just don't expect to hear it on NBC.

Focus On Obama

The Obama administration has one thing down, distraction. Last week he releases CIA documents on interrogations of prisoners picked up in the non-existant war on terror. Then he promptly apologizes to the world for the U.S. loosing its moral compass. Then over the weekend he lets it slip that he may consider criminal prosecution of Bush administration officials who were involved in torturing people. People are guessing he bowed to pressure from his liberal base, like he did to the Saudi King. Try this out, the economy is in the bucket with unemployment still rising without an end in sight. Lending is down to consumers by 23% from October when the TARP was passed. The auto companies are sinking like a stone, foreclosures are at an all time high and taxes are coming. People are marching in Tea Parties around the country, liberal Senator, Chris Dodd is in serious trouble getting re-elected for his 7th term. Arlen Specter probably won't make it through the Republican primary, that's his 6th term down the drain. Obama's poll numbers are slipping and the right track/wrong track numbers don't lie 56.7% think the country is on the wrong track with 36.6% on the right track, that's over a 20% gap. The other number bothering him has to be the Generic Congressional Vote, the lead by the Democrats is down to 2.7%. Last year before the election the gap was over 20%.

Now if you are Obama, you certainly don't want the focus to be on whats happening in the country as a whole because things ain't good. So lets bring out the favorite demon of the left, George Bush. By focusing attention on Bush he gets at least a week or two of media coverage on that as the story of the day. He will probably get congressional investigations on the subject which will keep it in the news for him. Obama ran against Bush last year even though Bush wasn't running, he is simply doing the same thing again. Divert attention away from him to a subject that's a winner for the Democrats and their base. Makes complete sense to me.

Americans need to watch and focus on what Obama is really doing, not the fluff he puts up around him. The main stream media keeps telling people he's wonderful, they believe if they say it enough people will start to think it. Its a simple bait and switch, while you look to the left he runs to the right. If you look right, he throws the ball. Obama knows that if he keeps things spinning around fast enough people can't focus too long on any one item. This administration is the single greatest threat to America that we have faced in decades. Keep your eye on the ball, if you do he will fumble, then we can go on offense for a change.

Here we Go Again

Once again the anti gun crowd is winding up the machine to try to get their goals moving forward once more. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is after guns and gun shop owners in Virgina. That's sure to fix problems in New York City. He sent private investigators to Virgina a couple years ago trying to complete straw purchases. Since these people are not employed by the Federal Government they have no authorization to operate anywhere except in New York City. Mayors do not have authority outside their cities or towns. I guess if your a liberal the laws don't apply to you.

Then we have Frank Lautenberg, U.S. Senator from New Jersey. He wants to stop the ever popular whipping horse "gun show loophole". There is no such loophole. What he wants to do is stop all private sales of firearms. In most states it is legal to sell a long gun between 2 private people without going to a gun shop to complete any paperwork or background check. He wants this stopped. He wants every firearm purchase by everyone to go through the background check and file the appropriate paperwork so it creates a trail for law enforcement purposes. Now of course if you are a moron you would believe him, but the truth is he wants registration of firearms.

Now lets go to California, they want to ban everything. Now they want to license "ammo vender's". I guess they mean sporting goods stores and gun shops. No doubt they want to levy some kind of new tax on ammunition, as if it doesn't cost enough already.

Fast Eddy Rendell in Pennsylvania now says he wants to ban "assault weapons" because of the shooting of the police officers in Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago. Rendell has been trying to get gun laws past in the Pennsylvania House and Senate for 6 years. It seems like all Democratic politicians use the "Never Waste A Crisis" program being pushed by the Obama administration. Lets hope it doesn't work.

Just thought you would want to know.

Lets hope its not 1979 again

It seems to me that every day things get a little crazier around the world. Pakistan is in the news as they have reached a deal with the Taliban in the SWAT valley of their country. The deal was that the area would fall under Islamic Law and that the country's police and military would withdraw from the area for a period of time. What has happened is that the Taliban is now moving towards the capital day by day. As of today they are approximately 60 miles away from the seat of power and control of the country.

Whats really disturbing is that the Obama administration through its Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, are sitting here watching it happen. Clinton was on Capital Hill today telling congress that the government of Pakistan is dis functional and doing nothing. America watched and stood by and saw the fall of our friend, the Shah of Iran, in 1979 to Islamic fundamentalists. We watched as they drove him from power and took over his country, look how well that turned out. Where would we be today without Iran spreading terror throughout the Middle East, funding Hamas, trying to destroy Israel and don't forget funding Hezbollah as well. We would not have to worry about a nuclear armed Iran threatening the world, we would not have to worry about Iran threatening to cut off a large portion of the worlds oil supply. And to think all it would have taken was one simple idiot of a president, Jimmy Carter, to step in and stop it all.

Now almost 30 years later we are seeing the same thing play out all over again. We have a novice president who is trying to save the world but has no clue how to find the restroom in the Senate Building, probably because he was not there long enough figure it out. He has surrounded himself with bumbling fools who just like him, never had to make the hard decisions, have little or no experience to draw on and are now in some of the most powerful seats in the world. The stakes are higher this time, Pakistan has nukes. Does any clear minded person believe that if the Taliban were to get control over them, that they would not use or spread them ? Our answer is to criticize them, to keep attacking their territory and to belittle their government.

Just like 30 years ago, an enemy who has sworn to destroy us, the enemy who helped directly with the 9/11 attacks, is now closing in on taking control of a country. The difference is that if they finish the job this time, they have nuclear weapons and that's a game changer. Israel will not sit by to be destroyed. We have troops pouring into Afghanistan, they would be exposed to a direct attack. NATO forces as well would be open to destruction. Europe would fall in range of unfriendly nuclear weapons. Not to mention giving one to a terrorist organization and putting it in a cargo container bound for a U.S. port. Don't forget India sitting next door watching this unfold, no doubt planning their options should things go bad fast. I'm sure the U.S. military has plans for this event to include either taking control of or taking out the Pakistan nukes should it become needed. The problem is not with the U.S. military.

If we sit by and do nothing but talk, sooner or later this scenario will play out. Everybody knew Obama didn't have a clue when it came to dealing with real world problems, being a community organizer isn't much help now is it ? People wanted a hand out, they wanted change, they wanted more government programs and aid. They really forgot that none of it is worth a dime if your not safe. Lets hope that things work out better this time, when that Democratic President was done, look how the world changed, not for the better. This time, it would surely be much worse.

Whats Up Jack ?

I can't watch one of my favorite shows now, 24 with Jack saving the world is being wrecked every week by info spots being done in place of commercials, telling us global warming is really bad and Jack can't save the world by himself, we need to help. If Jack Bauer wants to shoot terrorists, I'm in, if he wants to go green, he's going to look like an elf by himself.

Whats worse is the addition this season to the cast in one Janeane Garofalo. When she was talking with her pal Keith Oberman on his PMSNBC show, she stated without hesitation that the tea party protesters were actually white redneck racist's who were protesting a black man being president and it was that simple. These marches were not about taxes or an out of control government, she made it clear that the organizers don't even know what the Boston Tea Party was about. This woman doesn't even deserve any ones attention or scorn. She is a pathetic left wing nut who has no idea what she is talking about, further insulting tens of thousands of people by calling them racists is deplorable. She represents the Hollywood left, who just fall all over Obama. She represents a group of people in this country that need to go home and take a hot shower and scrub until the stupid comes off.

The Obama administrations fiscal policy has tripled the national debt which is going to lead to much higher taxes to pay the bills, no one argues that. We are in a hole so deep we can't see the bottom. People don't dislike Obama because he is black, they dislike him because he is screwing up the greatest country on the earth.

2nd Amendment Wins in 9th Circuit Court

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, which is considered to be the most liberal circuit in the country, has reversed itself and the 2nd Amendment. The court acknowledged that its earlier position of the states having the power to form a militia, and thus the 2nd Amendment protected only states rights to keep and bear arms was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court last year. The circuit court went farther stating in its majority position that" The right to bear arms is a bulwark against external invasion....That we have a lawfully armed populace adds a measure of security for all of us and makes it less likely that a band of terrorists could make headway in an attack on any community before more professional forces arrived".

Its hard to believe, but they got it just about perfect. The only thing that would have made it better was an acknowledgement about protection from an abusive government. But hey, its 90% there. Score one for us. Oh, wait a minute, according to the Department of Home Land Security, these justices must be right wing radicals. Go figure this one out. The Second Amendment Foundation, http://www.saf.org/, deserves some credit here as they helped to spread the word and argued the case along with the NRA in front of the U.S.Supreme Court last year that made this ruling possible. Way to go guys...........................

IMF Tells Geithner US Banks In Trouble

Tax cheat Tim Geithner was defending the bank rescue plan he authored even as the International Monetary Fund was telling the world in a just released report that U.S. financial institutions would lose up to $2.7 trillion in the global credit crunch. The term they used was crisis not crunch. Turbo Timmmy said the majority of banks have enough capital to operate, but that in the past few months bank lending has declined by large amounts in consumer loans including credit cards as well as commercial and industrial loans.

Geithner also made it clear that even if banks want to pay the money back the government may not accept it. What he is really saying is that they want to control the banks and they know that without having loans to them, they can't get the control they want in the Obama administration. Please keep in mind that the Chinese are concerned that they have so much of our debt that they fear we will not be able to pay it back unless we get the deficit under control. This nit wit is talking about not letting banks who have taken tax payer money pay back billions of dollars. The best part is he is saying we may need more money to rescue banks and other businesses.

If someone who borrows money from you wants to pay it back and you say no, so you can run around and tell people they owe you money, your an idiot. We need to get tax payer money back from banks as fast as we can, it may even reduce the debt level we face. A few more trillion give your take, but who's counting ?

Keeping Your Valuables Yours

I have read a lot lately about what people should be keeping on hand at home. I've stated many times get some extra water, food, cash, ammunition and so on. What I haven't read or said anything about is keeping these items safe. More and more people are keeping more and more cash and other valuables at home. People want to have ready cash available should they need it. Almost every "expert" out there is telling people to have money should they need to evacuate or for some reason banks are closed down for any period of time. With the economy the way it is many people are buying gold and silver coins instead of stock. They also want to have them physically in their hands. You can't blame them for that. I don't think many people would argue that Americans are keeping a lot more valuable items at home. Everybody knows this, even the bad guys.

If you have invested your money into something you want to have that item when you need it, you surely don't want somebody taking it from you. First you need to make your home is as secure as possible and still be livable. Good locks and doors, security latches on windows, good outside lighting and so on make a huge difference and don't really cost a lot of money. People who go out and buy a $10.00 lock for their front door are getting just that, a $10.00 lock. Visit a local hardware store and compare deadbolts and prices, get a solid rated deadbolt, not the best looking one. If you have 2 doors, get 2 deadbolts. Find a set of motion sensing lights, front and back, they should be about $40.00 to $50.00 each. If you are like most people you can install these items yourself at no cost. For about $150.00 you just upped the security of your home or apartment by 200%. If you own a home you could invest in a security system from one of the larger national companies, ADT, Brinks, Wells Fargo and others. Don't fall for the $99.00 system sale, it never stops there. They have the advantage of being installed by the seller, they offer monitoring from a central station and they cover your home 24/7 and can include fire and carbon monoxide monitors as well if you wish. The downside is the monthly fee for the monitoring service, it is in the range of $20.00 to $25.00 a month. If you don't want the fee or live in an apartment or something similar you can buy a self installed security systems at a wide range of prices, some offer dialer's to contact a phone number in case the alarm is tripped, its almost the same as monitoring except they don't call the police or fire departments. Adding things like an outside siren or flashing light to either system is advisable. Alarms do two things, first they alert you to a possible breach of your security and second they help to scare away the intruder(s).

Now if you have done those things, depending on what you are trying to keep safe, the best bet is buying a safe. Guns safes are the best overall for this use. Do not buy gun cabinets, they are light in weight and construction and do not in general have the ability to withstand much force being applied to them. They work great if you want to keep 10 year old kids away from your rifle, but that's all they do. Glass cabinets are the same thing. Buying a safe can cost you a fair amount of money, but you need to remember to buy the best safe you can afford because what you will put in it will be worth many times over what the safe costs. Also, this is an investment you will have for a life time, these things last. Even a small safe can weigh 200 to 300 pounds so keep this in mind when shopping. Always buy a safe at least 2 sizes bigger than what you think you will need, no this is not to increase the size of your gun collection, but it does help. Why I'm saying this is because as soon as you get home you will find all kind of things you will want to put in it. Yes your guns, yes the money you have around your house for emergency use, sure the gold and silver coins you have been buying, but you knew that. Now look at important documents like deeds, titles to vehicles, birth/death certificates, wills and the list goes on to include priceless family photos and the ring your grandfather gave you, it never ends. If you have a wife, you can bet some jewelry will make its way in as well.

Buy a safe that has at least three cross locking bars for the door, also consider if you want a normal dial or a push button setup, and what color you want it in. Many safes come in colors you would not believe and some have designs as well. Just remember that because the safe has a gold colored wheel to open the door instead of a plain handle, doesn't mean its better than the other plainer unit, it could just look nicer. These safes can be bolted to the walls or floor if you wish and can become almost impossible to move. Weight alone will deter most movement. If you have an alarm system going off, most people will not be staying around playing safe cracker in your basement with a cordless drill. You can also look into fire protection ratings on these safes if you wish.

What is the most important thing to remember here is that you have invested time and money in things you believe you will or could need. It would be bad enough to loose them, but to need them and not have them could prove to be fatal. People do not feel as safe as they once did putting money in safe deposit boxes at banks and hiding things around your home only goes so far. Having access to your things in an emergency could make all the difference, unfortunately less than desirable people who don't have the means to obtain these things will find a way to get them. As the economy gets worse, crime of all kind will go up, property crime will be leading the way. Take steps to protect your valuables now so you have them later.

The Real Obama

Obama may have finally become a true traitor to his country. He has decided to release the reports of CIA interrogations conducted on prisoners right after the 9/11 attacks. What he hopes to do is show how good and kind his administration is compared to the evil of George Bush. What he has really done is shown that he has no dignity for himself or his office. True, he does not have to agree with his predecessor, but in an attempt to make himself look good, he is tearing the country down. In the days and months right after 9/11 no one, and I mean no one believed we were not going to be attacked again and soon. Very few people would have faulted Bush for using whatever means needed to secure this country from another attack. As a matter of fact, he would have been savaged and rightly so, if another attack took place and he had not done everything in his power to stop it. Now everyone seems to have forgotten what it was like in those days, and true some never wanted any type of a military response no matter what happened, but that was a small minority.

We learned valuable information from these interrogations, information that may have saved American lives. Remember that these are the same people who beheaded Americans live on television. These are the same people responsible for over 3000 dead on 9/11, dead Americans. What makes this even worse if the fact that his Department of Home Land Security releases a report warning of right wing radicals and extremists, the problem is they are talking about some of the same people who signed up to fight the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11. It appears Obama is more concerned with Americans inside America, than he is Muslim extremists that actually committed the attacks against us. We are no longer waging a "War on Terror", as a matter of fact we are not even engaged in a war of any kind any more.

Obama bows to the Saudis while at the same time he tells law enforcement agencies around the country to watch American citizens and veterans in particular. He shuts down GITMO, because it looks bad to the world, he even has floated the idea that some of the prisoners there may be released into the US itself. He spends trillions of dollars on everything you can think of, but cuts defense spending. He wants to ban guns in America because of a problem in Mexico. He wants to talk with the Iranians while throwing Israel overboard. He tries to deal secretly with the Russians while abandoning much of Eastern Europe to them. This man has no honor, this is the same man whose friend William Ayers bombed people as a war protester, the same man whose pastor, Reverend Wright was damming America on a regular basis. This is the same man who married a woman who was never proud of her country until he got the Democratic nomination, not even on the day after 9/11.

He is now worrying about watching his own fellow citizens more than he is the real threats out there. Its like saying "We will cut missile defense as we watch the Iranians get nukes". Make a hell of a lot of sense to me, what about you ? Yes he is a Liberal, yes he is a Socialist, and yes the real Obama is a Traitor as well.

Back up Power and You

Having a back up power source for your home is not only smart, it may be a needed part of your life soon. Heat, water and lighting are all part of the things you miss fast when you don't have them. Try this out, go home tonight and turn of all of your lights and anything else you need electricity for. Leave everything off for about 2 or 3 hours, now don't unplug the freezer, but just try this for a couple hours in the dark. Don't tell anybody you live with that your going to do this, and don't get yourself killed by your wife if you have one. See how fast you can find a flashlight or other battery powered lights. Look for a radio you can still use. No heat or cooling, now what ? I realize you can't turn off the water, but just fake it. See how prepared you really are. In an hour or 2 you will realize how vulnerable you are without power. You may have a security system that is state of the art, how long will it run on battery power and when it stops you won't have your alarm any more. No outside lights to see who is out there, nothing.

What this will most probably do is show you how easy it would be to shut the country down by attacking the electrical grid directly or by an EMP attack. Don't forget natural disasters like storms, hurricanes or tornado's they have the same effect. How long will the food in your freezer last without power ? How will you take showers or wash cloths without water. Cooking food takes on a whole new meaning without public utilities, can you overcome this type of thing ? Sure you just need to see what happens when these things occur and plan for them accordingly.

The types of alternate power open to you is somewhat limited. Things such as propane are great, you just need to ensure that you have plenty on hand. You can heat, cook and even light your house with it. Solar power is an option, but for most people its not very practical and its still very expensive to do it on a big scale. To have it done correctly you would need to have an electrician who is familiar with solar come out and wire your house properly for you. This alone costs a ton, I have looked into pricing on having done to my house and the estimates varied from $12,000 to $17,000. This system if installed would provide up to 65% of my power requirements according to their surveys. I tend to believe its closer to $20,000 when all is said and done, they will find an extra switch or relay that's needed I'm sure. To make the system completely stand alone would cost several thousands more. The increase in battery storage and charging panels alone is expensive. Once the transfer switches and wiring is done, you can expand the systems later if needed or if you find you need more capacity. Even after completing the entire upgrade, it is still recommended you have another source of power. Wind power can be wired into the system but this is still in the beginning stages and does not provide much power unless the windmill is the size of your house.

So where does that leave you ? Generators are really your best source for back up power. They come in all kinds of sizes and shapes. If you wish to run a fair amount of power to your house anything under 5000 watts is too small. Smaller generators do serve valuable roles, just not to run your house. Running a mobile home or trailer yes, running only limited items such as a few lights, a tv, and maybe your refrigerator yes. They are also great for camping. Now lets look at your house. Several different options are available to you, first is having the generator hardwired into your house. These offer an automatic switchover when the power goes out, that's a nice feature to have. Most of these units run on natural gas and or propane. On natural gas your good to go as long the gas source is not cut, on propane again they work great just remember you will need to have a large amount of propane in reserve for long extended runs. These units sit next to your home and are covered by a metal housing and if installed right, they look more like an air conditioner than anything else. With this type of set up you will need to inform your local power company you have it. Having it installed by a professional is most likely a must. These units can cost $8,000 to $10,000 complete. Again a large investment.

Buying larger portable generators is what I believe is the way to go. These can be run on either gas or diesel, they are even available as multi fuel units. 7000 to 10000 watt units are great for homes. They are still portable, as they come on wheeled carts, they are heavy and take 2 or 3 people to lift, but 1 person can move them around without much trouble. They also offer multiple outlets including 220 lines. Several come with idle controls that help limit the amount of fuel you will burn. Gas tanks range in size from 5 to 9 gallons. You will be able to determine the amount of fuel you will burn by the chart that comes with the unit. Many come with electric start and floating battery chargers, which makes them nice in the winter or for people who can't pull start them because of a disability or age. If you have the unit setup to power your house through an outside plug, you can power your entire panel and use as many of your appliances as needed as long as you have the wattage available from the generator. You may need to turn off your electric hot water heater or not use your oven if its electric, but most everything else will work fine. You will now have heat, power to run your well if you have one, you'll have lights and power to your freezer or refrigerator or both. A big advantage with this type of set up is that you can turn the generator on and off as needed. For example, at night you could shut it down depending on your need for heating and cooling, this saves fuel big time. Running power to your refrigerator 10 or 12 hours a day will work just fine, keeping the doors closed will help. If you want your hot water heated run it at night when nothing else is running, then in the morning you have hot water for showers. You can do all kind of things when you think about it.

When you are done running it, unplug it and put it away. No one needs to know you have it, which is another advantage of this type of set up. Even with a smaller generator you can run cords into your house to the appliances you want to run, again 5000 watts should be where you start for a home. This is even a more portable set up, running your furnace or well if needed could be difficult since they don't just plug in. This setup will work if needed and is a big improvement over nothing. Remember all those poor people in the south without power for weeks in the middle of winter. Where was FEMA then ? Remember Katrina, no power for months, and guess what, nobody came to help them for weeks. Having a generator or other back up power is a must if your serious about survival for you and your loved ones. Don't misunderstand, this won't help you much in a nuclear war, you will run out of fuel sooner or later. But power outages or maybe even shortages are real concerns, finding a way around it for a period of time is only smart, how you do it is up to you.

"Radical" Americans Protest

Its tax day all over America, people are out marching because they are angry about the government. Yesterday a report from the Department of Homeland Security became public that accuses Americans of being right wing radicals. This report done on behalf of our government is an embarrassment to this country. The people connected with this report should be removed from their positions, including any cabinet level personnel.

The report states that "returning war veterans" are possible terrorists if they have trouble readjusting to normal life in America. These people have put their lives on the line for this country, which is more than the authors of this report or assessment can say. How dare they accuse American Military Veterans who served this country honorably, of being terrorists or "lone wolf extremists" who would carry out violent attacks. This report and the Obama administration is a shame. The offices of the VFW are protesting this vigorously, but the president has no comment, what kind of commander in chief is he ? Let me answer that question for you, a piss poor excuse for one, would be the correct answer. Everyone knows this man is a liberal, everyone knows he is anti military, everyone knows he has no clue what he's doing in the world, but now he is having HIS administration trying to assign labels to Americans who disagree with him and his pathetic ideas.

Just because someone owns a gun doesn't make them a radical. Just because we don't want to support a welfare state, makes us radicals ? Millions of people across this country who are the back bone of America are starting to get the idea that they are now being painted as the enemy of the country they love. This administration and its worthless leader accuse people of clinging to their guns and religion, if these morons had a clue they would realize that when you come out with official reports accusing people of something that is far worse than calling somebody a socialist, it has a better chance of causing division then anything else. If you want to radicalize people, keep calling them names, attack them and their way of life and sooner or later you will get want you want. If Obama wants this fight, he may get it, he will loose. Unfortunately the country will suffer in the interim.

Obama's claim to fame was as a community organizer, he should take his pathetic shelf back to Chicago, because a hell of a lot of Americans don't want him anywhere else. This is the most divisive president we could have gotten. He acts like he leading only his half of the country, the rest of us can go to hell. The problem for him is that his half needs to have someone support and take care of them, maybe he has not figured out yet that without all those red state Americans, this country collapses and he has no money for his welfare and social programs for his "community". Maybe he should go and organize that. Americans need to stand firm, the mid-term elections are coming, we need to get congress out of his hands no matter what. To be sure the left will fight us, they know this is their survive that is on the line. Like normal they over reach and go too far, and in the end they will loose everything they have gotten to date.

Watch your six, it could get real ugly.

"Right Wing Radicals"

The Washington Times is reporting that the Department of Homeland Security is warning about increased violence from the right. The report, 9 pages, was distributed to police departments throughout the country. The report cites "disgruntled" war veterans coming home, joining forces with "right wing radicals". The report is saying the rise in right wing groups is being fueled by the election of Obama, the first black president, as well as the economic crisis. Further it states racist organizations are involved in helping to promote descent.

The report talks about people who are storing food and ammunition, and that these could be indicators of involvement in these groups. It appears that the Obama administration is trying to distance itself from the report, which in and of itself lends weight to the report being factual. It also appears that the Federal Government is starting to get concerned about all the protests it refuses to acknowledge even occur. This report shows the level of paranoid people in the government close to Obama. What I believe has them scared is that even with the help of the liberal media, they can't tamp down the protests. As I have said before, sooner or later it will get out of hand at one of these marches.

The government is setting up the scenario were they can come in with restrictive laws or place controls or limits on peoples liberties. If you store away extra food or ammunition, you could be a right wing radical, did you know that ? I guess I am. People all over the country need to watch these types of developments, this stuff can get scary in a hurry. What it really does is convince more normal people to buy guns and ammo, store away food and supplies and prepare for something bad that is to come. And of course as you do this, you fall into the "radical" category. Its a no win situation, it feeds itself. More and more people are starting to take control of their own lives, if these people are "survivalists" or "preppers", then that's who they are, but its a dam big bunch now.

If Obama does not take action to turn down the volume, things will get much much worse, very very fast. People will not let you take away their freedoms without a fight. In some cases a real fight. Check out the web, more and more you will see people who are getting ready to fight for their values. Obama must be the dumbest man alive, he wants to ban guns, so what does he do? He starts he socialism express and people start to react. Gun sales have never been higher. Why is there no ammo available ? Because everybody bought it, DA! The very thing he did not want to occur, spreading the 2ND Amendment, is moving like a river in Utah. What this really means is that anybody who disagrees with the government is a radical and should be watched. This is a very dangerous mindset, liberals believe that conservatives are the real threat to America and they are mobilizing to fight against the perceived threat.

People should not fear their government, their government should fear them. The left has finally gotten into power and they are trying to consolidate it with moves all over the place. Running the national census out of the White House, this is where voting districts get drawn, it controls the number of Representatives an area has in the US Congress. This could influence the balance of power in the house for the next 10 years. National health care, in order make it work they will need a large data base containing your personal information, like your address, age, social security number, employer info, relatives and emergency contacts, your phone number and e-mail address. Don't forget what medical conditions you have and medicines you need or take. Do you really want the Federal Government having that info on you at their fingertips ? Don't forget that the government now owns a large chunk of American private businesses and banks. They won't even let banks return money, they want control and if the banks give it back they loose it.

Its not hard to see how people can get labeled as radical, but who is radical here, the people like you and me, or Obama and the left.

Do You Have The Good Stuff ?

Is there an ammo shortage ? Hell yes ! I had to have a Roto Rooter plumber come out today to clear a drain in my basement, as he was working he started making comments about storing food after he saw some of the stuff I had on shelves. He started talking about getting his well hooked up to a hand pump in case he looses power. He went on to make comments about guns and ammo, probably because he saw where mine was being stored. Now is this guy paranoid or crazy ? An employee who works for me came in last week crying he could not get any ammo to go out and shoot over weekend. He did find some, but at a price that he did not want to pay, and there were only a few boxes of that. A sales person who regularly visits my job, came in talking about buying extra food and putting it in his basement just in case. Another business person who I deal with regularly is wiring his home for a generator.

I have a couple good friends who own gun shops, they both state they can't get anything that looks like a bullet. One of them is hiding ammo for people who purchase a weapon from him because he feels bad selling them a gun he doesn't even have bullets for. The other one does a good deal of law enforcement sales, he has people in a police academy class going on, who can't find ammo to practice with. State Troopers are coming in complaining they need extra ammo and can't get it. Now at the same time bulk food items are flying off the shelves. Whats going on here ? At first I thought it was just me, then I went to a Home Depot store looking for another generator a couple months back, I was told that all the larger ones were sold out and had been for some time. They told me that they were back ordered but could not tell me when they would be in.

I have had all kinds of people coming up to me and talking about saving money, buying gold and silver coins, getting water barrels and buying freezers. It looks like to me people are getting ready for bad/hard times ahead, whichever you choose. You hear all the time, "your not alone", in this case your really not. People all over are getting ready for something. Some people don't even know for what, they just know they have to be prepared. This happens when people loose faith in their surroundings and government. People see things getting worse and the governments inability to change things is starting to take hold with everyday people. More and more people are going to "tax day" events of one kind or another. Now the left is sending people to counter the demonstrations. This thing could easily get out of hand. The left is trying to portray the demonstrations as racist and out of control. These are anti tax protests, why would any one, left or right care if someone is protesting taxes. Its simple really, the liberals are concerned that if these things take hold that the Bamster could be in for a bumpy ride. And they are right.

Whats coming here is possibly the beginning of a great divide. The main stream media and the left think he is too big to fail. Guess what ? He's not. The left wants his socialist agenda to succeed no matter what the cost. I believe the country is still center right. The mid term elections will test this idea, if there is a big push back and I think there will be, a lot of his programs can still be stopped. What people are preparing for is how bad it could get in the mean time, or if I'm wrong, 3 more years of Obama. Oil will go back up in price, Obama will try to ban guns, taxes will be going up, energy production is vulnerable, the North Koreans & Chinese & Iranians & the Russians are still out there. We are still involved in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unemployment is still rising and businesses are still closing daily.

If you consider all those things, it hard to believe anybody would be nervous about things getting worse and trying to prepare for it. If you haven't started getting things in order, maybe you should consider starting before me and all my friends buy all the good stuff.

SCORE: USA 1 PIRATES -3

We got great news yesterday, the captain of the hijacked ship was freed by the US Navy. It seems that even after the "FBI" was dispatched by the White House the terrorists were dispatched by the SEALS. Imagine that, the FBI couldn't talk them into giving up, wow I'm stunned.

Now that the rescue was a success, the mainstream media is blowing the horn telling the world that Obama gave the Navy the authorization to use lethal force. He most probably did, but reports have surfaced that the request was made twice before finally being agreed to on Saturday. The SEALS did a great job, they fired three shots, and made three perfect head shots to end the crisis. The life raft the pirates were on with the captain was being towed behind the USS Bainbridge as it was starting to flounder. It was approximately 35 meters behind the ship when the shots were fired. This is close range for a good marksman with a good rifle and no doubt the SEALS are good and they have good equipment. Everyone is happy this is over.

What bothers me is that the administration wanted to treat this as a law enforcement issue. They sent the FBI to negotiate with the "pirates". Think about this, if terrorists take over a building, such as a school or church, the FBI will be in charge. Now if your child was in that school, who would you want to help, the FBI(famous but incompetent) or the SEALS ? Now to be fair, this is not a clean setup. What I'm simply pointing out is that trying to talk with terrorists will most likely get many more people killed than need be. This administration is reverting back to pre 9/11 days. The Clinton administration viewed terrorism as a crime, not a war. Obama sees it the same way. we don't need to arrest these people, we need to kill them because they intend to do that to us.

What this incident shows is that we are able to defend ourselves given the chance, it also shows that our fearless leader hesitates, because at heart he does not want to use force. He believes in sucking up instead of standing firm. Lets hope this is not the start of a new trend, the bad guys out there know weakness when they see it and they will take advantage of it if possible. As a country we can't afford to blink. In the end it was a great job by the Navy and the SEALS.

Survival Rifle Basics

Last week we covered firearms that people may be using for home defense situations, we did not go into rifles because for most situations they really don't work well. If you know you are going to a gun fight take a rifle, if you are at home sleeping and some dim wit breaks into your home arming yourself is great, just don't shoot through your target into the next room, next apartment or your neighbors house. Rifles bring several advantages to the fight, accuracy and power are the two big ones.

Rifles are a needed component of our survival equipment, its hard to make do at times with anything else. If you live in areas where hunting is a viable option you can't overlook it. Both large and small game provide excellent food sources and in general a rifle is the best way to harvest the game. Yes you need a shotgun for birds, and yes you can hunt with a handgun or a shotgun, but most people would agree its not as effective as with a rifle. If you are in an area that contains medium to large size game most 30 caliber rifles will handle whatever needs to be done. If you are a small game hunter a 22lr is almost a must. Can you use other weapons, sure but we are not talking about your favorite bolt action 270 here, we are talking about people who may have one or two rifles and are not avid hunters. Many other rifles will do just fine and if you have them great, if you don't consider the choices open to you and make your best decision. Many hunting rifles are available used as people sell them off when they need money, if you look around you may be able to find a good rifle & scope combo at a nice price.

What type of rifle is more of a controversy than calibers and models. Some people have no use for semi-auto rifles, others that don't hunt see no use for bolt action or pump action rifles. The truth is for defending yourself against people a bolt can't hold its own. Now everybody out there who thinks they are the worlds greatest sniper is crying foul. Remember, we are talking about survivalist uses, survivalists don't engage people at 200 or 300 yards away, they let them pass. If you are attacked or need to defend yourself a bolt action rifle is at a disadvantage. Yes bolts are very dependable and for the most part they are accurate. They lack magazine capacity and speed. If you feel you need a very large caliber rifle, a bolt is your only real choice. One other thing, military surplus bolt action rifles are everywhere, some at very good prices. These bolt action rifles offer proven platforms with effective calibers. Some of this surplus ammo is still available a great prices when compared with other commercial ammo out there. Bolt actions are durable and strong, these are their two primary strengths that survivalists should look at. If cost is a concern, you would be better off with a good bolt than a non-reliable semi.

Semi auto rifles are the hot gun right now. The AK series, AR-15's, FN/FAL's, H&K's, Springfield M1A's, Ruger Mini 14's and a few others, these are the hot guns. They are divided into 2 different camps, one side is the smaller caliber 5.66/233 side the most popular being the AR-15 and Mini 14. The other camp is larger caliber weapons such as the FN/FAL, AR-10's, Springfield M1A's(civilian version of the M-14). These weapons are chambered in 7.62/308. The AK47 fits somewhere in between the two, the AK74 is in the smaller caliber camp at 5.45x59mm. Now that we know that, what does it all mean? The heavier caliber weapons are great double duty guns in that they can be used to take most game in North America. They are a little more expensive to purchase in the beginning and are more expensive to shoot later on. They do offer much more punch if its needed. There are not many reports of the M14 failing to knock someone down in combat, because of its 7.62 nato caliber. These weapons are heavier and carry less ammo, something to keep in mind if you have to carry it all day. Also because of recoil, you can not fire the weapon as fast, these weapons won't hurt you but you can't get back on target as quick as with a 5.56mm weapon. For defensive applications they bring penetration power such as on car doors or glass that you don't get with a lighter round. These weapons can easily shoot through most building walls and doors. Which is one reason they present issues as home defense weapons.

If you opt for the smaller caliber round what you get is maximum firepower, speed and control. These weapons can be very accurate and very fast on multiple target engagements. Women more readily accept the recoil as it is very light. The weapon itself is lighter, smaller and faster to swing around in tight quarters. These advantages should be something you consider when making your choice. Remember firepower is the number of rounds, stopping power is not the same thing. With these types of weapons one can carry several loaded magazines with 30 rounds each, giving you plenty of firepower. You can also carry these weapons more comfortably all day in the field if needed. Don't misunderstand where I'm going, the 5.56/223 is a fine round and I would not want to get hit by it, but it will not penetrate like the 7.62 and does not possess the same level of pure power. As I said, I don't want to get hit with a 5.56/223, but I don't want to go bear hunting with it either. Under say 200 yards the smaller caliber weapons will most likely serve you well.

One thing you must understand with any of these rifles, get the best rifle you can afford, you need to be sure that its reliable and sound. Military rifles have an advantage as the good ones take alot of abuse and keep running. Semi auto rifles do require a higher level of care and maintenance and you need to be sure you understand this and take care of them properly. Which ever weapon you end up with, be sure you are comfortable with it in every sense, meaning its reliable, accurate and you know how to keep it running well. Many people talk about survivalist weapons and cost, to be sure its important, but if possible don't let that determine your entire choice. A good quality weapon and ammunition are priceless if you need them. There are other choices out there as well, lever actions, single shots and so on. While I am a gun nut and like most all of them, that does not make them good choices for a survivalist, but they could be pressed into service if needed. If you own one of these the same rules apply, make sure you are good to go with the weapon and your already half way there.

Are We Sunk Yet ?

Are we sunk yet? Pirates have taken a US citizen as a hostage, since this was the first incident of a US flagged ship being boarded by someone in about 200 years this is a big deal. The ship was near the Horn of Africa carrying cargo and was hijacked and boarded by Somali pirates. The crew fought off the pirates however the Captain of the ship was taken hostage as the pirates left the boat, they ended up adrift in a life raft without fuel to move away. A United States Navy Destroyer, the USS Bainbridge is now stationed near the raft and has it under observation. Two more US Navy ships were also en route to the location. The ship was delivering cargo to the Kenyan port of Mombasa and is now back under way to that location with a detachment of Navy SEALS on board.

Now the news is reporting that the pirates have called for backup, and several of the vessels they have hijacked recently are now going to their aid with hostages on board, is this nuts or what ? We have the guided missile frigate the USS Halyburton on its way along with an amphibious assault ship and a compliment of US Marines. Are we going to have a naval engagement with these fools who have a death wish ?

One reason that this is such a big deal, although no one will say it, is that the pirates are "terrorists". Yemen and Somalia are terrorist havens, you can believe these people are funneling money from this "business" enterprise to our friend Osama and his little band of merry men, since by all accounts they have a have and growing presence in the region and have safe havens in which to train. This is a widely accepted belief, not just held by conservatives.

Since we are no longer fighting the "War on Terror", our fearless leader is sending in the FBI, to handle this situation. You may ask, what they have to do with this in any way, but since our prosecutor in chief believes that this is a law enforcement issue now, he has sent is his main guys, the FBI. Maybe instead of making the US look foolish he should send in the SEALS instead, and while we are at it, lets take back the hijacked boats that are coming to the rescue as well just for fun. If you can't back down a disorganized group of armed thugs with the most powerful military in the history of the world, what kind of Commander in Chief are you going to be. This isn't Russia or China, this is a bunch of ding dongs in rubber rafts. God help us all if he answers the call at 3:00 in the morning, with any luck his BlackBerry won't work.
